Warranty & Legal Guarantee

When you buy from Budget Gadgets, you are protected by the mandatory EU legal guarantee as well as any additional warranty we may offer on specific products. This page explains your rights in clear language.

1. EU Legal Guarantee (Minimum 2 Years)

Under EU law, consumers are entitled to a minimum 2‑year legal guarantee for goods that turn out to be faulty, or that do not look or work as advertised.

This legal guarantee applies to all physical products you buy from us as a consumer, anywhere in the EU. It starts on the day you receive the goods.

The legal guarantee is a right you have against us as the seller, independent of any additional manufacturer warranty that may exist.

2. What You Can Ask For if Something Is Wrong

If a product is faulty or does not match its description, you can contact us and request one of the following solutions, in line with EU rules:

  • Repair of the defective product, or
  • Replacement with a new product, if repair is not possible or not reasonable, or
  • Price reduction or full refund if repair or replacement are impossible or cannot be provided within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you.

In many EU countries, if a defect becomes apparent within the first 12 months after delivery, it is presumed that the defect already existed at the time of delivery, unless we can prove otherwise (“reversed burden of proof”).

3. What Counts as a Defect (and What Does Not)

A product is considered defective under the legal guarantee if, for example:

  • It does not work at all or stops working under normal use within the guarantee period.
  • It does not match the description or main features shown on the product page.
  • It is clearly not suitable for the usual purpose of such a product.

The legal guarantee does not cover damage caused by improper use, accidents, unauthorised repairs or modifications, normal wear and tear, or cosmetic issues that do not affect normal use, unless the item is significantly different from how it was described.

4. Additional Warranties (If Offered)

Sometimes we or the manufacturer may offer an additional, voluntary commercial warranty (for example, “3‑year extended warranty”). This is separate from your EU legal guarantee.

Any such commercial warranty will be clearly mentioned on the product page and/or in the product documentation. If a commercial warranty is offered, it applies in addition to – not instead of – your mandatory legal rights.

5. How to Make a Warranty / Legal Guarantee Claim

If you think your product is defective or covered by warranty:

  • Contact us via our Contact page as soon as you notice the problem.
  • Include your order number, a short description of the issue, and clear photos or a short video if possible.
  • Keep the product and all accessories until we confirm the next steps (repair, replacement, refund, etc.).

We will review your request and respond with a proposed solution in line with EU consumer protection rules and our Return & Refund Policy.

6. How This Relates to Our Return Policy

This Warranty & Legal Guarantee page covers your rights when a product is faulty or does not match its description.

For returns where you simply changed your mind within the 14‑day EU cooling‑off period, please see our separate Return & Refund Policy.
